Vintage HP LX95 handheld organiser / DOS PC with extra F1003A 512k RAM card. Excellent cosmetic condition, only the most minor of scratches (see the photos of the actual item). This machine is fully working, display 100% perfect, the hinge is good, the opening and card eject latches are functioning correctly, battery compartment is completely clean with no corrosion, and the backup battery holder is present and undamaged. This unit is capable of running MS-DOS 3.3 (held in ROM), and has 512k of RAM which can be selectively shared between saving files to its local filesystem or for running programs. The files in this RAM disk are preserved during battery changes as there is a separate CMOS battery (freshly installed). The ROM based software includes Lotus 1-2-3 (spreadsheet application), a word processor, telephone directory, calculator, calendar, file manager and terminal emulation. It also comes with an additional 512k RAM card, which inserts into the left hand side of the organiser, and allows considerably more file storage. As with DOS systems, this is referred to as drive A.
Other connectivity with this machine includes infrared and serial port (adapter not included), with a 12V socket for external power (also not included). As some background to this unit, I used it for my final year university project, as a serial port monitoring terminal to visualise GPS data passing through a communications radio channel. I never had the serial adapter for this machine but used DuPont wires on the side pins, and it must have left a good impression as they gave me an A! I also copied very basic MS-DOS text based software to the unit, which worked and proved this is a true DOS computer.
