Stihl Contra Vintage Professional West German Chainsaw. 106cc & 6-9 Horse Power, A True Vintage Monster.

VERY RARELY AVAILABLE AND ALMOST NEVER IN THIS FABULOUS WORKING CONDITION. Complete with the original model badge & matching serial numbers - this is a genuine example of an Iconic saw.

Please do not confuse this saw with something that has been stripped in to pieces, then rebuilt & repainted! IT REALLY IS NOT THE SAME! Beautiful Vintage Chainsaw with a Genuine Period 25" Solid Nose Guide Bar & 0.404" Oregon Period Full-Chisel Chain, both in good used condition. Also supplied with a brand new 0.404 chain that has not been used & only fitted to check fitment.

In my opinion this saw is in lovely original condition both cosmetically & mechanically considering it is up to circa 60+ years old. The saw is fully functional and working. The engine pull over with massive compression & starts & idles beautifully - please see video below. In addition to the new chain the saw has also had & new fuel line, new correct NGK spark plug, new Genuine Stihl front handlebar rubber grip, new aftermarket carburettor (original Tillotson carb also supplied), Stihl pull start friction washers, new stainless steel retaining washers, new correct size pull cord & new period wooden pull start handle etc etc.

The saw will also be supplied with a rare & sought after good copy of the Illustrated Parts manual - incredibly useful for identifying part numbers, fitment & placement. A current Stihl equivalent 100cc + saw would be a Stihl MS881 at approx. Grab an irreplaceable bargain while it is still available. Almost impossible to find in this condition. THIS BEAUTIFUL ENGINE IS APPROXIMATELY 60 YEARS OLD & BECOMING IRREPLACEABLE.
