No silver bar underneath the display, the metal silver bar was added to the HP-80 V1. The front label with HP logo reads "HP 80 P-53". The function keys are t oo small for the keyboard, the final version keys fit correctly. The legends on the keys are different from the V1 production model. XY key has 2 full curved arrows, the "SAVE" key has the arrow emblem further apart.
The basic function key emblems (add, subtract, multiply, divide) are smaller. The prototype top row keys are gray, the V1 keys are black. CLR became CLEAR on final. No serial number or back labels. Chips have much lower chip codes than the production model. Battery compartment is clean with shiny, conductive tabs.
